Central Taiwan Expands Tourism Market with Thai Travel Agencies and STARLUX Airlines: A New Era for Taiwanese Tourism in Thailand

Central Taiwan is reaching out to the Thai market in an attempt to raise its profile as a destination for tourists from abroad. Together with STARLUX Airlines, the city of Taichung and the counties of Nantou and Changhua established a major partnership to highlight the region’s varied attractions from September 8 to 12, 2025. An important step in enhancing Taiwan-Thailand tourism ties was taken during this time when 25 well-known Thai travel agencies were invited to discover the natural beauty and cultural legacy of central Taiwan.
This action is a component of a larger effort by Taiwan’s tourism sector to broaden the range of tourists it welcomes, with a focus on Southeast Asian markets where travel has grown significantly in recent years. The purpose of the delegation’s visit was to give them a firsthand look at everything central Taiwan has to offer, including its breathtaking scenery and rich cultural traditions. Future travel to Taiwan is anticipated to be boosted by this exposure, especially as the Thai tourism industry keeps expanding.

The delegation from Thailand was introduced to several of the region’s most famous natural attractions. One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to Nantou County, home to Sun Moon Lake, one of Taiwan’s most iconic natural landmarks. The Thai visitors explored the lake’s serene waters on boat tours and visited cultural and historical sites such as the Wenwu Temple, which provides a stunning view of the lake.
